Only three percent Muslims support Bush

Washington: According to a poll conducted in June, only three percent of Muslims said they were going to vote for President George Bush in November.

In the words of freelance journalist Joshua Micah Marshall, “though it’s probably not too much of a surprise that President Bush isn’t doing all that well among Muslim voters, let’s note for the record that this poll June has the President clocking in at a rather anemic three percent support among voters who say there is no god but God and Muhammad is his messenger.”

The poll by a prominent civil rights group suggested that support for President Bush among Muslim voters had eroded so swiftly that Muslim votes for Sen. John Kerry could swing the presidential election in key battleground states. Of the nearly 1,200 Muslim voters surveyed in June by the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), 55 percent said they had voted for Bush in 2000, but only three percent of those same voters would vote to re-elect him.

Among those three percent who do support President Bush are two Pakistanis, Ms Seeme Hasan and Mohammad Ali Hasan, a 24-year old student from California. Seeme Hasan comes from Lahore and is a graduate of Kinnaird College. She moved to the United States in 1970 and settled in Colorado. The two – mother and son – are enthusiastic Bush supporters and have set up an elaborate website they call Muslims for Bush. They have also been invited to meet the President at the White House and a picture of the two with Mr Bush is prominently displayed on their website. khalid hasan

Muslims for America – Mission Accomplished!

Muslims For Bush was founded in the summer of 2004, by mother and son Seeme Gull Hasan and Muhammad Ali Hasan. We founded Muslims For Bush because we love President Bush and believe that he is the key to bringing about great peace all over this great world.

In studying President Bush’s biggest decisions and arguments, it became very clear that no other world leader is willing to protect the innocent and fight the villains in order to create  a world that will forever benefit from peace. Many leaders will fight for the innocent, but few will go after the villains. And it seems that none have the patience to create sustaining world peace.

Muslims for America - Ali HasanOur greatest goal was to spread this message, not just in America, but all over the world. We wanted our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan to know that their work is forever appreciated by America’s Muslims. We wanted the world to know that many Muslims, here in America, celebrate President Bush as a hero. And most importantly, we wanted to spread this message to our fellow Americans, both Muslim and non-Muslim, in getting as many people to the polls as possible.

The expanse of our message surprised even the group’s Co-Founders. News coverage of our website and group spread from the New York Times to the Los Angeles Times, and almost every other major American newspaper by way of the Associated Press. International papers, like the Pakistan Times and Guardian (England) were to quick cover us, including numerous other papers in Asia and the Middle East.

We were proud to work with publishers like BeliefNet, the World Report on Middle Eastern Affairs, The Valley Patriot, MuslimWakeup.com, and Naseeb.com in getting our message published in magazines and major websites. Radio programmers at NPR, Voice of America, The Sky of Florida, and others, were quick to give us an opportunity to express our message.

Our appearances on Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC, Norwegian TV, Ireland News TV, GEO-TV of Pakistan and the Middle East, BBC, and PBS helped to broadcast our message of love and peace to not just America, but the entire world! We thank them for their work with us.

The year ended with Co-Founder, Muhammad Ali Hasan, being promoted as a regular political pundit on the Dennis Miller show of CNBC, as well as BBC Radio of England. Despite the cancellation of the Dennis Miller show, Hasan currently hosts Ali’s America, a weekly editorial segment on GEO-TV, a channel that reaches out to almost every country of the Muslim World. Hasan broadcasts messages of American outreach and love.

We're also proud of the BBC documentary, "It's My Country Too", a movie that spotlighted MFA's efforts to bring more unity between the Republican Party and American Muslims during the 2004 Election. The movie has been shown all over the world, except in the United States.

We have thousands of members, both Muslim and non-Muslim, in a proud collection of American brother and sisters. In reflection, our goal was to get President Bush re-elected, with the America and the world’s backing. What we did not realize was the greater bridges of love and understanding that we would build between America and the Muslim World.

At Muslims For America, you have our promise that we will continue building these bridges to help bring an end to this war and peace to this world.

May Allah Bless America and this great Earth!
