Muslims For Bush is proud to recognize Senator George Allen as our most intelligent and proactive Senator of today! Through his latest policy proposals and actions, Senator Allen has demonstrated that he is America’s most valuable Senator in the areas of foreign policy and diplomacy.
As Muslims, we know that this War On Terror cannot be won unless we, as Americans, work with Muslim countries and leaders who are not only willing to help us out, but also have a history of it. President Bush demonstrated such intelligence by creating strong alliances with Pakistan, a country today that has arrested more members of Al-Qaeda than any other country.
It was Senator Kerry’s lack of judgement, during the 2004 Presidential campaign, when he suggested that we invade Pakistan with help from India, further intensifying the negative relations that have taken place, historically, between both countries. Not only was Senator Kerry turning his back against our best ally, Pakistan, but he was also practicing the useless mechanism of picking one country over another – so much for his being a “multi-lateralist.”
It was President Bush who decided that we could be allies with both Pakistan and India, in lifting the Clinton Administration sanctions set against them, allowing us to gain access to both Pakistan and India’s intelligence against Al-Qaeda, in addition to retaining the services of their armies in the rugged regions of Afghanistan.
Today, no one understands the importance of friendship between Pakistan and India better than Senator Allen. The Senator has worked tirelessly to honor the contributions that both Pakistan and India have made, by not only publicly recognizing both countries, but implementing new policy to further strengthen our relations with both.
Senator Allen is currently working to open free trade avenues between America, Pakistan, and India, in an effort to strengthen all of our economies, a position that the Republican National Committee supports. More importantly, Senator Allen has submitted a plan to resolve the tensions being created over Jammu and Kashmir, an issue that unnecessarily divides both Pakistan and India.
Most importantly, Senator Allen and his wife Susan have hosted fundraisers to raise money for Pakistan’s earthquake relief, in addition to traveling to the country, itself, in an effort to represent America’s thankfulness and love for our best ally. Senator Allen said it best in mentioning, “I also want the people of Pakistan to know how much Americans value their support on the front lines in the War on Terror and look forward to developing economic opportunities between our nations.”
The War On Terror began in Afghanistan and it will end in Pakistan. No other country can boast the kind of intelligence that Pakistan has against Al-Qaeda, nor does any other country have an army as well equipped and trained to fight in the mountains of Afghanistan, in capturing Al-Qaeda operatives.
It is critical that our next President not only have the strongest understanding of the South Asia area, but also have a desire to make it more peaceful and stable, in an effort end this war. Not only does Senator Allen have the intelligence and desire, his latest actions of introducing bills that would increase free trade between Pakistan, India, and America, in addition to resolving clashes over Kashmir, demonstrate that he is America’s most valuable Senator when it comes to foreign policy. Muslims For America encourages his Presidential candidacy in 2008!
